Shoreline Dredging & Oil Services Limited (SDOSL), a leading indigenous dredging and oil service company, is wholly owned by Nigerians and was incorporated in 1989 as a private limited liability company. Shoreline was a subsidiary of Comet Finance and Securities Limited (CF & SL) and is registered with the Department of Petroleum Resources to operate as a Dredging and Oil Service Company. In 1996, as a result of internal reorganization Shoreline took over the oil service activity from CF&SL, which had been mainly leasing of vehicles to Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited.
Shoreline initially focused on supplying chemicals, equipment and spares to the major oil and oil service companies in Nigeria namely: Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited, Chevron Nigeria Limited, Texaco Overseas Company Limited, Port Harcourt Refinery, Nigeria Agip Oil Company Limited, and Nigeria LNG Limited. In order to expand its business line and clientele, Shoreline extended its supplies to include building materials such as aggregate, gravel, sand etc and started active business with leading oil service and construction companies namely: JV Spibat/Fougerolle Nigeria, Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, Jolimair Nigeria Limited, Setramech Limited and Daewoo.
To stay abreast of competition and provide better services, Shoreline acquired marine and land equipment used in supplying and hauling the building materials. As Shoreline’s fleet grew, opportunities to lease its equipment to its clients also opened up.
As part of Shoreline’s expansion strategy, she diversified into the dredging business and is currently a leading indigenous dredging company serving the major oil, Oil service and Construction companies.
